Great White Shark Cage Diving

South Africa, Gansbaai, is world-renowned for it’s Shark Cage Diving. Gansbaai is a sleepy seaside village a short drive from Hermanus, in the Western Cape of South Africa. Our Guest House is in the stunning location of De Kelders which is on the outskirts of Gansbaai.
Getting to Kleinbaai, which is just outside Gansbaai and where the Shark Cage Diving tours leave from is a short drive from the Grand View Luxury Villa. Directly from Cape Town it will take you about 2.5 hours and from Hermanus, the journey is only about 45 minutes.
All the Great White Shark Cage Diving tour operators follow strict guidelines as to maintain their permits and not jeopardise the ecology. The trips are informative and a must-do for anyone visiting South Africa ; especially Cape Town and the Western Cape. Launching from Kleinbaai Harbour, your vessel will take you out towards Shark Alley and Dyer Island, which is home to many penguins, other sea birds and lazy seals. Naturally, this is where the Great White Sharks will migrate to for food.
Due to regulations and the ecology, the Great White Sharks are not fed, but are attracted to the boats by means of “chumming”. You will undoubtedly never have such a close encounter with the apex predator of the ocean as this. Submerged in a cage next to the boat you will be one-on-one with the Great White Shark, in its natural habitat.
